Wild Color is one of my discoveries in the digital
darkroom. Other people are probably doing the same
thing but I am not aware of anyone. The color is a
result of manipulating the curves and or hue
saturation functions in my favorite photo-editing
program. Some of the wildest colors have come from
black and white negatives. One reason I started this
series was because the first digital printer I had would
shift colors green when viewed under some light
sources. With this body of work that is not a problem.
This is a case of adapting the art to the media. Some of
the tree images remind me of the old solarization
process where mackie lines would appear around the
borders of tones. I feel like a kid with a brand new box
of crayons.
